Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Wedding in Nathrop, Colorado
Love and a pandemicโฆ One could say that love has a very strong hold on the entire body. It can make you smile, it can make you ill. Love can make you weak in the knees, it can make your toes curl. When the entire world was put on pause for 2020, it gave us all many reasons to dive into our relationships. It created an atmosphere that tests us and potentially gave couples more reasons to love their partners. We played silly games, had deep conversations, learned some new dances, and some planned a wedding.
Laura and Dana, quarantining together at home in New York, NY planned their socially-distanced garden wedding, cross-country in Nathrop, CO at the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. CDC guidelines was now their rulebook. Guests were limited, masks required, and a large dinner and reception were off the table. Thankfully, Mt. Princeton has a gorgeous and very spacious garden. The couple laid out picnic blankets for groups and their pods to gather at during the ceremony and cocktail hour. I loved their guestbook set up with clean and dirty cups for pens, they supplied masks, hand sanitizer, and groups tested before they arrived. As their photographer, we made sure I was always six-feet away from everyone, we didnโt have โgetting readyโ photos, we didnโt have any dancing, but the love was evident in this green grove. It surrounded the couple. Supported them for a long life together, through thick and thin, and in sickness and in health.
Love and a pandemicโฆ gave us perspective, opened our minds, turned strangers into family, and put our trust in one another.
