Chalk Cliffs Elopement in Buena Vista, Colorado

This lovely couple has been coming to me for their family photographs for quite some time. They’ve been together now for over 12 years, and I have become so much more than their photographer. We’ve supported one another during hard times, skated around with Ark-Valley High Rollers, sat bellied up at Moonlight bar for many-a BOGO Margarita nights, and then (finally) Brandon proposed.

They asked me once again to help them document their love story and wow, was it intimate. Just them, me and the dogs (well plus the best friend/dog wrangler). Through the snowstorm we drove to Twin Lakes to celebrate their engagement, popping champagne and dancing in the drifts.

One month later, at the Chalk Cliffs near Mt. Princeton in Nathrop, CO, the couple reserved a cute A-framed Air BnB to share their first dance, light their unity candles, and cut the very on theme cake by Sarah Gartzman owner of Biker and the Baker in Salida, CO. This adorable rental was filled with knick-nacks from all of it’s previous travelers. It told a story, and Becca and Brandon were now apart of it.

Like me, Becca and Brandon are dog lovers, and their special day wouldn’t be complete without them. They witnessed the couples love and without any hesitation, signed the marriage certificate (with a little assistance of course).

When (and not if) you consider eloping, take a note from these two. Love isn’t all it takes to have a happy marriage. It takes the test of time. These two have been in love for many years, and only wanted to share it with one another because that’s who matters in your relationship, your partner.
