Something Borrowed | The Pines by Wedgewood Weddings | Golden, CO
“We had our first date on April 8th, 2022. While the timing was quick we couldn't help but fall in love with each other and keep falling in love more and more as time passed. We both got each other flowers on our first date, we constantly are always on the same wavelength about everything and challenge each other to always do better. We are each other's biggest advocates and best friends. Time can fly but with each other each moment is another memory we cherish.”
-Amberly & Jay
Notice something different in the two portrait locations? We had a bit of an outfit change…
Amberly and Jay got married on 11-11-23 in Golden Colorado, at The Pines by Wedgewood Weddings. Very stunning venue and we were very very lucky to have the sunny and warm weather that we did. In the pines however, the snow was a bit deep, but the sunlight was making me want to risk it all… Amberly was wearing heels and so I asked if she’d like to borrow my iconic white Doc Marten platform boots that I coincidentally had in my car. The champion that she is stuck her bare foot into my shoes and off we went to play in the snow, Amberly trudging the way. I had to hold Jay’s arm because I unfortunately didn’t bring a third pair of boots that they could borrow… I’ll be more prepared next time.
Non-traditional is what I’m here for and one of my favorite things that A&J implemented into their day was the start time. Their ceremony was at 11AM. Making the dance party starting at 2:30 PM. Everyone understood the assignment and danced the day away. I still do love the film point and shoot cameras placed on the guests tables. It is so fun and interactive for the guests and you bet your ass I made sure the remaining film was used up before the end of the ceremony.
The Pines by Wedgewood Weddings was a great venue to celebrate with Amberly & Jay. Their ceremony site was stunning, spacious, and accessible during all seasons. The views from the reception hall were gorgeous and the courtyard was large enough for a family first look, guest portraits, and big hugs all around. The staff was considerate of their needs, and on top of any last minute mishaps. I would love to photograph more weddings here, especially in the winter!
